Body, Mind, and Writing Challenge – Day 1

Each day of this challenge has 2 main components – something I’m supposed to do and something I’m supposed to write.
So here goes with Day 1!

~ What I’m supposed to do: Clear my mind with a 2-minute breathing exercise  –

  • Set a timer for two minutes, turn off all distractions (computer/cell phone, put the dogs outside), and find a quiet room.
  • Close your eyes, and slowly breathe in deep and fill your lungs fully with air, then slowly release the air
  • When the timer goes off open your eyes and complete one more deep breath and release slowly.

Well, that worked nicely, I really feel like I can finish this post easily now!

~ What I’m supposed to write:

  • Use the SMART Goals Worksheet and create at least 5 blog goals for the next 30 days.
  • Then, write a post and share your January SMART Goals goals for the next 30 days.

OK – my 5 SMART goals for the next 30 days are:

  • SPECIFIC – How will my goal look when I have achieved it?
    • I will make a page for each category on my blog
  • MEASURABLE – How will you measure whether or not the goal has been reached?
    • The pages will be visible in the menu
  • ACHIEVABLE –  Do you have the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities, and resources to accomplish the goal?
    • Yes
  • REALISTIC – What is the result (not activities leading up to the result) of the goal?
    • the blog will be better organized
  • TIMELY – What is the established completion date?
    • This will be finished 5 days from today

So, there you have it. It looks quite daunting from here – maybe I was supposed to choose smaller goals, but this is a real commitment, and one that is out there in the public eye. I’ll have to be accountable now!

Do you have something that helps you to stay accountable? If so, why not share it with me in a comment!
